Ingredients :
- 1/2 cup(s) butter
- softened
- 1/4 cup(s) vegetable shortening
- 3/4 cup(s) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
- 2 cup(s) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
Intructions :
- With a mixer
- mix butter and shortening thoroughly.
- Add sugar
- gradually
- continuing to beat for about 5 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla extract, beat well.
- Lightly spoon flour into a measuring cup and level off.
- Blend flour
- baking powder
- and salt.
- Add flour in 3 additions. The batter will be stiff.
- Fill and assemble the cookie gun. Use your desired disc.
- Press cookies.
- Decorate with colored sugar at this stage.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes at 375 F or until cookies just start to turn golden around the edges.
- Be careful not to overbake. Makes about 6-7 dozen cookies.
