These decadent butterscotch brownies have almost a fudge havelike consistency. They are chewy with a nice crunch and buttery taste. That sauce on top is delish! It has a rich caramel flavor that hardens to a nice crispy topping once the butterscotch brownies cool. Easy to make, your family is going to love them. I have made these bars for several years. We have always called them Butterscotch Brownies, but a lot of people call them Chew Bread or Chewy Bars. The glaze I am including is optional, but I wouldn't dare escape the lovely taste of brown sugar and butter...YUM YUM!
