Chinese Style Hamburger Casserole Recipe @pinch

Easy, easy, easy weeknight casserole recipe. Once you brown the beef, everything else is a breeze. Thanks to the soy sauce and rice it has an Asian feel. Fresh onions and celery add tons of flavor and texture to this hearty casserole. We loved the addition of mushrooms but they can easily be left out if you're not a fan. This may not be the prettiest dish when served. But, one bite and it will be on your regular dinner menu. This was one of mamma's recipes! And one of our favorite wholesome meals growing up. Ingredients :
  • 1 pound(s) ground beef
  • 1 large onion
  • chopped
  • 1 cup(s) celery
  • sliced
  • 1 can(s) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken soup)
  • 1 cup(s) warm water
  • 1/2 cup(s) rice
  • uncooked
  • - pepper
  • to taste
  • 1 can(s) mushrooms
  • undrained (4 oz)
  • 1/4 cup(s) soy sauce
Intructions :
  • Brown meat, drain.
  • Mix meat and remaining ingredients together.
  • Place in a 2-quart casserole dish. (Dish may be sprayed with cooking spray.)
  • Cover and bake for about 1 1/2 hours at a 325 degree oven. (I uncover during the last 15 minutes). Bake until rice is done. Ovens may vary.
