  • 3/4 cup(s) applesauce
  • 1/4 cup(s) sour cream
  • 1/3 cup(s) vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon(s) lemon juice
  • - caramel glaze (recipe follows)
  • 1/2 cup(s) chopped toasted walnuts
  • 12 - popsicle sticks
  • CARMEL GLAZE
  • 20 - caramels
  • 1 tablespoon(s) milk
Intructions :
  • Combine flour
  • sugar
  • spices
  • baking soda
  • and salt in a mixing bowl.
  • Stir in applesauce
  • sour cream
  • oil
  • and lemon juice.
  • Pour into muffin pans fitted with paper liners.
  • Bake for 20 minutes in a preheated oven of 350 F.
  • Let cool completely on a wire rack.
  • To make the caramel glaze
  • melt unwrapped caramels and milk in a saucepan over low heat; stirring constantly until just melted. Spread the caramel glaze over the tops.
  • Insert sticks upright in the center of each.
  • Garnish the rim of each cake with nuts for the caramel apple dipped in nuts look.
  • To make them more festive
  • tie a small ribbon bow around each stick.
