This grilled cheese is like a supreme pizza in a grilled sandwich - a fantastic idea! We loaded our sandwich with all the suggested toppings and fell in love. But tailor the sandwich with your favorite pizza toppings. Buttery grilled sourdough holds in the gooey cheese, hearty pepperoni, and salty prosciutto. Fresh basil adds a pop of flavor. We added a little sauce inside the grilled sandwich and served some on the side for dipping. If you don't have a panini press, these can be grilled in a skillet. Grilled cheese and pizza are my favorite foods, so why not make the ultimate food? Adjust the "pizza toppings" to your individual taste and be amazed! haha

Ingredients :
- 4 slice(s) bread
- I like sourdough or a crusty French bread
- 2-3 slice(s) mozzarella cheese
- 2-3 slice(s) provolone cheese
- a few dash(es) grated Parmesan cheese
- a few tablespoon(s) pizza sauce
- 8-10 slice(s) pepperoni
- 3-4 slice(s) thin-cut ham/prosciutto
- few tablespoon(s) chopped onions
- few tablespoon(s) chopped peppers
- few tablespoon(s) sliced black olives
- 2-3 - sliced mushrooms
- a few - chopped/torn basil leaves
- - butter/cooking spray
Intructions :
- Prepare your ingredients and heat your sandwich press.
- Butter/lightly spray one side of each bread.
- On the non-buttered side
- start your layers: Start with a layer of mozzarella cheese
- a few teaspoons of pizza sauce
- 4-5 slices of pepperoni
- veggies
- fresh basil
- and a little Parmesan cheese.
- Top all of that with thin-cut ham or prosciutto.
- Then a layer of provolone cheese.
- Top with a final slice of bread
- butter side out.
- Carefully close the sandwich press.
- Cook a few minutes until golden brown and the cheese is completely melted.
- Because it gets messy sometimes with the pizza sauce
- you can heat it separately in the microwave while the sandwich cooks and just use it to dip the sandwich in.
