Hearty, these Southern country biscuits with sawmill gravy are such a treat. The fluffy buttermilk biscuits are melt-in-your-mouth good. While the biscuits bake, it's easy to whip up the creamy and sausage-filled old-fashioned sawmill gravy. This may not be a breakfast eaten every day, but it's wonderful for a holiday or special occasion. This is how my husband and I have started our day for 54 years. Breakfast is our main meal of the day, and we can't function without our hot biscuits and a good cup of coffee. My grandchildren all love to come to our house on the weekends to eat biscuits and gravy.
