One holiday side dish that can be semi-homemade is mashed potatoes, and this is a great recipe to have handy. It tastes like you peeled, boiled, and mashed the potatoes yourself... except you didn't. The final result is creamy, buttery, and fluffy mashed potatoes. I first had this from a sister-in-law... I have since changed things up a bit.

Ingredients :
- 2 package(s) Bob Evans garlic mashed potatoes
- 1 package(s) cream cheese (8 oz.)
- 1 package(s) shredded cheddar cheese
- - garlic powder
- if you wish for more garlic
- 1 package(s) bacon bits
- usually found in croutons section of store
Intructions :
- In a casserole dish
- as shown
- put in the one package of potatoes and mash with a fork or spoon
- whichever.
- Cut cream cheese into slices. Place them on top of potatoes.
- Microwave for 4 min.
- Add the bacon bits
- cheese
- and the other package of potatoes {garlic powder if you choose}. Mix together.
- Microwave for about another 5 min or until everything is heated through and melted. Enjoy! ]
