Three Amigos Chili Recipe @pinch

This chili is spicy and smoky with bold flavors. The mix of beans, meat, and veggies is great. Each type of meat gives a different flavor to the chili. There is a slightly sweet and hot flavor to it. This was a hit in the Test Kitchen! Serve with cornbread, and your family will smile. This chili is by far the best I have ever had and I am not being biased, either. I really love chili and have had all different kinds. It has also won in two chili cook-offs. It's unique in the fact that it had 3 meats, 3 veggies, and 3 beans. Also, the beef in au jus is the kicker. So delicious!

Ingredients :
  • 1 pound(s) ground beef
  • 1 pound(s) steak (your choice meat - rib eye
  • top sirloin
  • etc)
  • 1 package(s) fully cooked prepared \beef roast in au jus\ (15 oz)
  • 2 can(s) chili beans (16 oz each)
  • 2 can(s) red kidney beans (16 oz each)
  • 2 can(s) Great Northern (white) beans (16 oz each)
  • 1 large jalapeno
  • 1 - choice of sweet pepper (red
  • orange
  • or yellow)
  • 1 can(s) sweet corn (16 oz)
  • 2 can(s) tomato sauce (16 oz each)
  • 1 can(s) tomato paste (6 oz)
  • 1 package(s) chili seasoning (1.2 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon(s) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon(s) garlic powder
  • - salt & pepper
  • to taste
Intructions :
  • Add beans
  • corn
  • tomato sauce
  • tomato paste
  • and Worcestershire sauce to a large pot and cook on medium heat.
  • Brown ground beef and add 1/4 packet of chili seasoning to the meat (about 1 Tbsp).
  • Pour the rest into the pot.
  • Add meat to the pot when done browning. Drain depending on how lean the meat is.
  • Grill steak
  • with a dash of salt and pepper
  • to desired color (medium usually chops best, about 4 1/2 minutes on each side). Chop steak.
  • Add steak to the pot.
  • Heat up fully-cooked microwavable beef in au jus per package directions. Shred with two forks and add to pot.
  • Chop (or mince per preference) jalapeno and pepper.
  • Add to pot.
  • Add garlic
  • salt
  • and pepper (to taste).
  • Cook on low for 30-45 minutes.
