Good Ol Goulash Recipe @pinch

A great, no havefrills goulash that has a wonderful home havecooked flavor. Slow cooking the goulash enables the ingredients to mingle and creates fantastic flavor. It is super easy to make, but it does take some time in the Crock Pot. The perfect meal when you have projects going on at home and want a home havecooked meal but don't have time to spend in the kitchen. This recipe is not only good on the first day, but it is better on the second day. It is budget havefriendly and freezes well.

Recipe Cuisine: Hungarian Recipe Category: Beef Yield: 6 Servings
Ingredients :
  • 1 pound(s) ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion
  • 1 can(s) condensed tomato soup (10.75 oz)
  • 2 can(s) diced tomatoes with garlic, undrained (10 oz each)
  • 2 teaspoon(s) apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoon(s) sugar
  • 1-3 teaspoon(s) paprika, I used smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon(s) dried marjoram leaves
  • 2 - bay leaves
  • 2 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon(s) black pepper
  • 1/2 - green bell pepper, or any color pepper
  • 1 can(s) corn kernels (15.25 oz)
  • 3/4 cup(s) water
  • 2 1/2 cup(s) cooked pasta of choice (8 oz)
  • 1/4 cup(s) parsley, if desired
  • pinch - cayenne pepper
Intructions :
  • In a very large skillet, cast iron if you have it, cook ground beef, green pepper, and onion until the meat is browned and the green pepper and onion are tender. Stir to break up the meat. Drain well. I then placed it in a slow cooker. If you want you can make the recipe in the large skillet, it cuts the time down to about 25 minutes
  • Add all other ingredients except the parsley
  • Cover and cook on high until it is simmering; about 4 hours
  • Remove the bay leaves
  • Add cooked pasta
  • Simmer, uncovered, stirring frequently for about 30 minutes
  • Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve
  • Add cheese and sour cream, if desired.
