The Nutella frosting is amazing chocolate decadence in these cupcakes. If you love hazelnut, you'll love these. The vanilla cupcake is tender with a subtle flavor. It allows the Nutella frosting to shine. When mixed, the frosting is heavy but has an airy texture. Quite tasty. These cupcakes are light and airy. A perfect combo of vanilla and chocolate!

Ingredients :
  • VANILLA CUPCAKES
  • 1 3/4 cup(s) cake flour
  • 3/4 cup(s) sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1/4 cup(s) vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoon(s) margarine
  • 1/2 cup(s) sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup(s) whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • NUTELLA FROSTING
  • 1/4 cup(s) Nutella or nocciolata
  • 4 tablespoon(s) butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup(s) confectioner\u2019s sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
Intructions :
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside
  • In another bowl, whisk oil, margarine, sour cream, vanilla extract, milk, sugar, and egg
  • Slowly add in flour mixture until a nice smooth batter forms
  • Pour cupcake batter into a lined cupcake pan
  • Bake for about 20 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean. Let cool in pan
  • In the bowl of your mixer, beat butter until smooth and whipped
  • Add confectioner sugar until a thick smooth frosting forms. Add Nutella and vanilla extract
  • Once the cupcakes have cooled completely, spread frosting liberally on each cupcake. If desired grate a chocolate hazelnut candy over each cupcake.
